Tonight, the South Jazz Band performed downtown at the Monongalia Art Center as part of the Monongalia County School Art Show and First Friday for the Arts. They did a great job!
The chorus performed the national anthem at tonight's WVU game. Nice job Stallions!
Student Council spent their club time on Friday outside doing a clean up around our building. Thank you Stallions!






Mrs. Smallwood, Mrs. Stenson, and Ns. Nikole took the students outside to play parachute.

Congratulations to all our Aerial Drone teams for an absolutely dominating success at the Kanawha County Time Warp Grand Prix over the weekend. Our program brought home 6 out of 8 available awards.
The Flying O'Possums from Neptune finished qualification rounds in 2nd place and Skills in 3rd place. They also won the Coding Award for our program this time!
When Pigs Fly finished the qualification rounds ranked #5 and made it to the finals as part of the #2-seed alliance. They were also ranked #2 in Skills for the day.
Just Keep Flying finished qualifications in the Top10 and Skills at #4. They also brought home the Communication Mission Award.
Hermes held the 1st place position all day again under pilot Aubrey G. They went on to choose pilot Jude W. and Just Keep Flying for the #1- seed alliance for the elimination rounds.
The Flying O'Possums from Neptune, piloted by Elizabeth G. chose AmosJay M. and When Pigs Fly for the #2 seed alliance in the elimination rounds.
The Flying O'Possums and When Pigs Fly outscored Hermes and Just Keep Flying in the semis, but fell short in the finals, allowing aHermes and Just Keep Flying to be crowned Teamwork Champion in the last regular season tournament of the year.
Hermes also landed the Triple Crown by winning the Skills Champion Award and the All-Around Champion Award in addition to the Teamwork Champion Award at the same event!

8th grade WV Studies students bring history to life, launching atlatls and experiencing ancient hunting techniques firsthand!








8th Grade Students were given signs with meaningful sayings about the staff who support and inspire them each day. They shared these with teachers as a small token of appreciation, recognizing the impact they make both inside and outside the classroom. Students of South's Technology Students Association (TSA) team are hard at work preparing projects for the state competition next month. Projects are in their final stages.





Learning how to golf in PE class!








Mr. McIntyre's Medical Detectives class dissected sheep's brains today. Dissection helps students learn basic brain anatomy. By carefully cutting and labeling parts like the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem, they can see how different structures are organized and understand their functions.






7th graders celebrated Pi Day with a variety of activities. What is Pi Day? Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) to honor the mathematical constant \(\pi \) (\(3.14159...\)), representing the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.




Students in Mr. Batholow’s wood shop class are completing several hands-on projects. Their final pieces showcase the woodworking skills they have developed throughout the course. We’re excited to share a few photos of some finished work and the craftsmanship behind each piece.
